Myanmar Now Media Company Limited is seeking a full-time translator able to work in both the English and Burmese languages. The core of the job will consist of translating original writing and reporting from our team of Burmese journalists into English, but other tasks will include translating English-language international news stories into Burmese.

Prior experience working with journalists, or in a newsroom or media organization, is a plus but is not required. This is currently a temporary position lasting from six months to one year, with possible extensions.

Requirements:

• Any graduate, though English majors are preferred.
• Under 45 years of age.
• 3 years’ experience in translation or interpretation highly preferred.
• Fluent in English 4 skills.
• Ability to work with documents in an office setting.
• An energetic and positive personality.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Comfort with basic computer use and programs including Google Docs, MS Word, Excel, Internet browsers and email platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
