Ta’ang National Party

The Ta’ang National Party won one seat in the Lower House, one seat for the Upper House and four seats in the Shan State parliament in the 2010 elections. However, it did not run in the 2012 by-elections. The party represents the ethnic Ta’ang (also known as Palaung) people of northern Shan State.

In the 2015 elections, it will contest for 15 constituencies in eight townships in Shan State. The objective of the party is improvement of the livelihoods for the Ta’ang people. The party is a member of Nationalities Brotherhood Federation, an alliance of 20 ethnic political parties.
