Zomi Congress for Democracy

The Zomi Congress for Democracy was set up by ethnic Zomi community in western Myanmars Chin State. Its predecessor was the Zomi National Congress, which contested unsuccessfully in the 1990 elections. The party adopted its current name in 2012. It is a member of the United Nationalities Alliance, a grouping of eight ethnic parties.

Tonzang and Tedim townships in Chin State are the strongholds of the party, which says it has about 15,000 members.
